Carmarthen Quins Under 11s travelled to Llangennech this week in what proved to be a very physical game. Both teams were eager to win, but it was the Quins that secured the first try of the match when Owain H took advantage of a gap in the home sides defensive line. Llangennech immediately retaliated with a try conversion to ebb in front. This is when the young Quins stepped up their game and displayed a wonderul team effort that the coaches were proud of. Some direct running and skillful passing of the ball through the hands secured another try that was converted by captain Elis P. The rucks proved to be tough physically with the likes of forwards Osian, Steffan J, Iestyn and Owain D using their strength and skill to turn the ball over time after time securing possession that resulted in a quick ball to the backs to cross over the line. Some massive tackles from Elis P, Gruff, Elis T, Jesse and debutant Dylan made it difficult for the home side to gain any territory and a strong defensive line from the Quins ensured that the final score was 7-48. All players were congratulated for their play but the Man of the match awards went to Jesse (backs) and Osian (forwards). A big thank you to Quins first team player Gareth George for taking the time to come and watch the boys play. He is pictured here with the Under 11s
