Quins Working Hard to Welcome New and Old Players Back Safely

Following a well documented forced long lay off due to the coronavirus pandemic there is now some light at the end of the tunnel for a return to the fields of Maes y Deri in Abergwili.

While certain elements of lockdown still remain the Club is working closely with the Welsh Rugby Union to ensure all safety aspects are covered to allow a return in the first instance to non contact training sometime in early August.

Club officials have been engaged with the union through many webinars giving up their time to ensure Carmarthen Quins Mini and Juniors are ready to hit the ground running when they can.

Prior to registration opening on August 1st all parents of players under 18, coaches, team managers, first aiders and anyone associated with the running of the section will be required to undertake an online assessment from World Rugby in relation to coronavirus https://playerwelfare.worldrugby.org/?documentid=module&module=37 this ensures that they understand the safety aspects surrounding the virus and how best its spread can be slowed or stopped.

Once training has resumed all players or their parents will be required to complete an online symptom checker prior to attending each session. This will allow the club to understand players health and maxmise the safety of all concerned.

Whilst there is no date suggested yet for further easing of restrictions the club is making arrangements for the training of each group that maximises the children's enjoyment but more importantly it remains safe for all.

This year will be running teams from under 7s right up to under 16s and there are spaces available should anyone wish for their child to join us. You can contact us via this website or via the social media channels of Facebook and Twitter.
